Live, Laugh, Love!

It's bitter cold outside with snow blanketing the frozen earth. My twin sons are sleeping soundly as I sit down to share my thoughts for today. I'm so glad that we have a warm house to keep us safe and protected from the bitter nasty weather. It would be so nice to have a wood burning fireplace right now, but that will come in the new house my husband is building for us.
Today, I remember giving birth to my second daughter, she turns 18 years old today and I marvel at the intelligent, kind, pretty, fun and hardworking person that she has become. I love her dearly and hope that she has a special day celebrating her birth. I'm so grateful for her in my life. :)

I also ponder about the recent holidays that I shared with my five mostly grown children, husband, in-laws who live across the field, and mom who came down from Canada with her husband John. I especially miss my Dad during these times, as he passed away in January 2004. However, I know that his wise and loving spirit is carefully watching over us. We go on, we live, laugh and love to the best of our abilities.

This year we have twin sons that are 9 months old and my oldest son and his wife gave birth to a gorgeous baby girl in August. So 2008 was full of newness for me, a new mom again and a first time Grandma. Fun! All of my children were able to come home for Christmas this year, which was absolutely wonderful! :) I met my sweet granddaughter at Thanksgiving for the first time. She has bright eyes which are intensely curious and a smile that melts my heart. Having everyone together reminded me of my many blessings and how wonderful my children are in my life. Life is good!

Sincerely, Mom At Home
